At the 2018 Council of Science Editors meeting in New Orleans, LA, Inera’s Elizabeth Blake co-presented at the session “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly in Citations.” Liz’s talk, “(Wo)man vs Machine,” focused on how publishers can best combine human editors’ skills and knowledge with continually improving automated tools to maximize the accuracy and discoverability of the citations they publish and the metadata they deposit with organizations such as PubMed and Crossref.
