End-User Training
eXtyles User Training
This practical, hands-on course, taught over one and a half or two days, covers all aspects of the eXtyles feature set. User training starts with a classroom introduction, followed by an interactive hands-on session for up to six users with one trainer, or up to twelve users with two trainers. We can also add more half-days of training to accommodate additional users with a single trainer. (While class sizes are fixed for the hands-on sessions, we welcome additional attendees for the lecture-style overview.)
Word Tips for Editors
Even experienced editors can benefit from additional training in Microsoft Word. In this Inera-developed course, specifically designed for the needs of editors, participants learn tips to help get work done faster and more efficiently by using the powerful, advanced features of Microsoft Word. The curriculum includes customizing Word, shortcuts, document navigation, advanced features in Find and Replace, and editing tables. Word Tips for Editors is a half-day, lecture-style class for up to 30 participants.
eXtyles Refresher Training
eXtyles Refresher Training is a personalized course for existing customers who completed their eXtyles User Training several years ago, or who have newer staff members never formally trained by Inera. Typically focused on eXtyles best practices and new features, this course can be tailored to your requirements. Consider combining this course with the half-day Word Tips for Editors course.
eXtyles Best Practices Workshop
eXtyles continues to improve and expand, and even the most seasoned eXtyles user may be unfamiliar with some newer features and enhancements. This half-day course focuses on best practices, tips, and tricks for getting the most out of eXtyles, including improvements for handling ever-more-complex publishing requirements and documents, managing pesky errors from Word or XML parsers, and much more.
eXtyles Export Workshop
Many eXtyles users move confidently through the eXtyles processes that leverage Word functions but pause before pushing the XML Export button, crossing their fingers that there will be no parsing errors they won’t know how to resolve. Although you don’t have to be an XML expert to use eXtyles, a clearer understanding of some key XML principles, and of how eXtyles collects metadata and applies document structuring in Word to produce XML, will help you feel comfortable uncrossing those fingers.
This half-day, lecture-style workshop dives into the full eXtyles feature set from an XML perspective, empowering attendees to better understand how eXtyles processes interact to produce XML from Word. We focus on the kinds of problems in Word documents that lead to XML errors, and present lots of examples to help build your troubleshooting skills. Learn how XML puts the X in eXtyles!
